Working Principle of Modular FFU Cleanroom

Created on 01.04

Overview

A modular FFU cleanroom (also called a cleanroom shelter) is a prefabricated, high-efficiency workspace designed to achieve rapid deployment and precise contamination control. FFU cleanrooms can be built with softwall (anti-static PVC curtains) or hardwall (acrylic or color steel panels), providing a freestanding structure that maintains stable positive pressure and cleanliness levels from Class 10 to Class 300,000.

Key Components and Mechanism

Frame

Modular cleanroom frames are made of stainless steel or aluminum alloy, providing strength, corrosion resistance, and easy installation.
Prefabricated frame modules allow fast assembly on site without compromising stability.

Walls and Ceiling

Softwall FFU cleanroom: Anti-static PVC curtains prevent static buildup and reduce dust accumulation.
Hardwall FFU cleanroom: Acrylic or color steel panels provide rigidity, anti-dust, and durability.
Ceilings made of aluminum-plastic panels support FFUs and airflow distribution.

FFU System (Fan Filter Unit)

FFUs are high-efficiency, low-noise, energy-saving fans that filter air through HEPA filters.
FFU airflow removes airborne particles, maintains cleanliness, and ensures laminar or turbulent flow as required.
FFU casings are made of galvanized steel or stainless steel, and can be customized per client specifications.

Control System

PLC-based system monitors and regulates FFU operation, airflow, differential pressure, temperature, and humidity.
Maintains positive pressure and pressure differentials between the FFU cleanroom and surrounding areas to prevent contamination.

Modular Assembly and Flexibility

Walls, ceilings, doors, floors, and FFUs are prefabricated as standardized modules.
Modules are quick to assemble, reconfigure, and expand, supporting rapid deployment, mobility, and flexible production layouts.
FFU cleanrooms can range from 2 m² to 5,000 m², adaptable to site conditions and production needs.

Working Principle Summary

The FFU cleanroom operates by creating a controlled airflow environment:
Positive pressure prevents external contamination.
HEPA-filtered FFU airflow removes airborne particles.
Anti-static walls minimize electrostatic contamination.
Intelligent control system regulates airflow, pressure, and climate parameters.
Modular design ensures rapid assembly, scalability, and operational flexibility.
This makes FFU cleanrooms ideal for electronics, biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, and high-precision manufacturing, providing efficient, reliable, and flexible contamination control.
